A Very Crafty Christmas

This post is a little late, but I wanted to show some of the fun crafts that I worked on this Christmas season. Kara had the idea to make homemade gifts and I thought I would join in the fun.

As one of the gifts for Suzanne, Kara and I made her a calendar of her family (huge THANK YOUS to Natalie for helping us get these photos! You are wonderful!). Here's a few of my favorite pages...

As I posted in November, I have recently learned to crochet so I decided to do that with a lot of my presents. I still owe Kara and Suzanne blankets (I have the yarn.. I have started.. just not finished...), but I did finish scarves for Kara's family, a blanket for Ayden, and headbands for myself and my nieces (notice the cute frame I hung them on... that was one of the presents Kara made for me... complete with decoupaged clothes pins! LOVE IT).

And the biggest craft of all is an orange cedar chest that Suzanne and I did for Kara.

Truthfully, I did not do a whole lot to help. It was my idea to do it. Suzanne found the chest at D.I., she sanded it and primed it, we picked out the color (or what turned into colors) and we painted it. Turns out, we ended up picking up the wrong color when we went back and so Suz sanded it down again in places, re primed it, painted it, and did the trim work. We ended up doing the stenciling together. It was a huge hit! I freaking love it and now want to redo my cedar chest!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! I know I did!

Crafty Christmas is right!! You guys are SO awesome!! Fantastic crochet work!!! I can't believe you got all this done at the crazy time that is Christmas. The chest is amazing! Did you stencil that design on top? Too cool! You guys rule. The calendar pages were seriously to die for. I told Suz that was the best gift anyone could give someone!
