Children's toys have gotten so cheap lately! Take this present Emily {my niece} got for her birthday...
What a fun idea! She can make her own jewelry. Well, you apparently need a P.H.D. to understand the directions (I'm still not sure they were in English) and have magical powers to create what you were actually trying to make! So instead of a necklace and a bracelet we got...

a ring...
and an "earring" to hang from a forehead charm.

At least we had fun making them, right?
